Post Oak-Blackjack Forest In the center of the state towering trees bow out to the cross-timbers-dense, gnarled patches of drought-resistant post and blackjack oaks. In 1832, Washington Irving called them 'forests of cast iron.' Later, cowboys driving herds along the Chisholm and Shawnee trails gave this forest its existing name. Thornhill Christmas Tree Farm unfortunately will not be open for the 2020 season. Please join us next year for more fantastic Christmas memories on our beautiful Pisgah, Alabama tree farm. Directions: From Exit 290 on I-40 take highway 70, .1 miles east. Turn left on Poplar Grove Road. After the bridge this becomes Rocky Point Road. Just past Rocky Point Baptist Church turn left onto Macedonia Cemetery Road. It is .8 miles to the farm.
Choose & Harvest: White Pine, Scotch Pine, Virginia Pine, Norway Spruce, White Spruce and Blue Spruce.
