Choppy Table Craps

  • Winning is easier in craps than virtually any other casino game if you follow some basic practices. Make sure you’re comfortable with how the game is played. Have an appropriate bankroll and set win/loss limits. Play the ‘Smart Bets’. Those with the lowest house edge. Make sure you at least 3 strategies to cover Do, Don’t, and Choppy tables.
  • Choppy and semi-cold tables When I first start playing craps, I watch the rolls of the first two shooters. If they are throwing only a few numbers before they seven out or only make one point before sevening out, I determine that the table is choppy or turning cold. I then adjust my bets.
  • How to Win at Craps on $10 Tables is a craps betting strategy specifically for $10 tables. The craps strategy starts with a $36 bet on the 6 and 8.
  • The table was typically choppy, and most craps players, betting pass line and either making place bets or come bets, with prop bets thrown in for good measure, were losing quickly and leaving the table.

In craps the tables will be trending toward hot or cold perhaps thirty percent of the time. They may actually be hot or cold for another ten percent of the time. The other sixty percent of the time the trend may be choppy with decisions hopping back and forth, both ways.

Choppy table craps strategy

When I first start to play, I watch therolls of the first two shooters. If they are throwing a lot of numbers before making apoint or sevening out, I determine that the table is choppy or turning hot. I then adjustmy bets accordingly.
If there are a lot of numbers being thrown or a point is madeby every other shooter, I'll make two $12 place bets on the six and eight. After the firsthit on either number, I'll reduce the bets to $6 each. I'll leave them working forthe life of the roll on the shooters first point. The shooter makes the firstpoint so on the second pointnumber trying to be made, I leave the place bets on the six and eight on for the life ofthe roll, using a same bet, press it progression.
If there aren't a lot of numbers being thrown before the shootermakes the point or sevens out, I'll make two $6 place bets on the six and eight. I leavethem working for one hit or six rolls and then take them down.
Another betting strategy is to make the place bets onthe six and eight, and if the shooter throws one of your numbers within thefirst three rolls, you would leave the bet working and start your count over.Anytime your number isn't thrown after three rolls, prepare to take them down onthe sixth roll. For more info see-place bet betting guide.
If a four or ten isthrown, I make a no four or no ten bet for $40. I leave the no four or no ten bet up untila seven is thrown or I lose the bet. Be mindful of how many times a four and ten show up.Sometimes there is a preponderance of one number. If so, don't make a no four or no ten onthat number. You can make two $5 don't come bets after the fourth roll instead.
I don't make a pass/don't pass line bet.
If a shooter makes two points in a row, I start to bet accordingto the hot system.
If two don't passes are made in a row, I start to bet accordingto the cold system.

My system of betting for:

Starting table play
Choppy & semi-cold tables
Hot tables
Cold tables

An Example of this system

You determine that the table is gettingwarmer. A lot of numbers are being thrown and most shooters will make at leastone point before sevening out.
You make two $12 place bets on the six and eight. Theshooter throws a six on the 5th roll. You take you winnings and tell the dealerto take you down to $6 each on the six and 8. The shooter sevens out and youhave a $2 profit.
Unsure of what the next shooter might do, you make two$6 place bets on the six and eight. If the shooter throws one of your numberswithin the first three rolls, you'll stay working. If not, you'll come downafter the 6th roll, even if your number is thrown on the 4th, 5th or 6th roll. The shooter throws a six on the second roll. You tell the dealer same bet. Theshooter throws another six two rolls later. You say same bet. Now the shooterhas hit your numbers twice within six rolls. You are going to stay with thisshooter for the life of the roll and the next time one of your numbers is hityou would press it. Even if the shooter sevens out, you have a $2 profit.
The shooter sevens out. Now you have two shooters seveningout in a row. You determine that table is getting colder.
You make two $6 place bets on the six and eight and will takethem down after one hit or six rolls. The sixth roll goes by and it's a four.Your numbers haven't been thrown so you take your place bets down and make a $40no 4. Next roll is a six, then the point is made. You still have the no 4 for$40 working, so you pray for a seven on the come-out.
